The Sumter Community Concert Band (SCCB) was founded in 1982. Managed by a board of directors elected from within the membership, SCCB is a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation dependent on membership dues, patron contributions, and grants. The band welcomes new members and draws musicians from Sumter, Shaw Air Force Base, and surrounding counties with varying backgrounds - teachers, lawyers, farmers, pilots, homemakers, physicians, college students and retirees. Their common link is a love for band music and a desire to share that love with the public. All concerts are free and open to the public.
