Public Comments: My first thought was to write about this property being a developers dream, bc it is. But it is also a historical building in Steinhatchee, something that we don't have enough of. So which is more appealing? I'll let you decide.... This 1700 sq ft building was built in 1931 as one of Steinhatchee's first post offices. The paint is weathered and the roof has rusted. When you walk inside you can't help but feel connected to Steinhatchee. The upstairs was the living quarters and the bottom was the post office. It has an antique kitchen sink and stove with old wooden doors and windows that make you dream of the past and what those walls have seen. For a moment the desire to know Steinhatchee's history begins to disappear bc you can feel it. You begin to understand the pride that the locals have when they tell you they were born and raised here and everything starts to make sense. Times have changed & Steinhatchee isn't as slow paced as this old Post Office once seen. There is so much money being invested into Steinhatchee & we are quickly becoming a billionaires playground hence as to why it's a developers dream! It's almost an acre on Riverside drive with views of the beautiful Steinhatchee River! This high and dry property has road frontage on three sides and utilities. It's one of the last large parcels in the middle of town with waterfront views that you can easily divide and build spec homes that are walking distance to Sea Hag Marina!! Wether you restore the historic post office and turn it into that bed & breakfast you've always wanted or divide and conquer, this will be one of your greatest investments!! Schedule a tour bc this historic money maker won't last long!
